Grandparent's House
For Easter my family and I headed over to Sisseton and had a small family gathering complete with cheesy potatoes, ham and green bean casserole. After lunch we went to dig evergreens out of the pastures for my mom to replant into her yard. To avoid work I brought my camera and took some pictures of stuff around the farm. Did some minor editing on them and uploaded to the blog!

A Day at the Barn
Bits in the tack room.
Canvas... the most photogenic horse in the barn.
Coach's dog, Cleo.
Team jackets... thought the color contrast was kind of interesting.
Dinky.
Favorite picture of the day. Sepia tone added.
Went to the barn today for practice and decided to bring the camera with to take some pictures for class. Still haven't mastered the indoor shots of fast-moving horses... maybe I will work more on that in the next month.

It's Snowing Outside...
...so I will stay inside! Today while I was working on some homework I needed a break, so I decided to take some photos with my roommates awesome camera (Nikon D5100). After working with her camera I realized I need, need, NEED to update my camera (graduation present???).
So with these pictures I just found random stuff around my apartment, took the pictures and then did some editing in Photoshop. I have figured out that I tend to have a preference towards really dark photos, which I can't decide if that is a good thing or not. But anyways... here are a few of the photos I took and edited today.

Cross in the roommates room. Kind of liking the editing.
Valentine's day conversation hearts... I wish the words would be more readable.
The apartment was filled with flowers this past week... so pretty!
We have a good collection of wine bottles in the apartment. Loving the black and white effect on this one.

MCOM 365 - Advanced Photography
This semester I'm taking a class called Advanced Photography. The class is geared around learning more about your camera and photography techniques in general. This is my blog of some of the best shots I am going to take throughout the semester-- Enjoy!
Roadtripped to my grandparents this weekend (a lot more snow there than here!) Got some cool shots of the snow/frost/winter. I dislike snow and winter... I think it is rather blah. Spring, summer and fall better hurry and get here.

Sunrise
This getting up with the sun thing is starting to grow on me.
Not exactly the picture I was looking for when I got up this morning to do chores, but it turned out pretty awesome if you ask me. I'll try for a better one tomorrow morning.
--------
It has been awhile since my last post- forgive me! The weeks got crazy busy and stressful at work with some deadlines getting closer and closer, so I have actually been bringing work home with me.
Some of my projects for the last two weeks have been finishing up the list, making sales calls, creating some ads and my normal day-to-day activities at the office. I have officially decided that I HATE making sales calls-- the whole idea of asking people for money kind of freaks me out and intimidates me a little bit. Not to mention it's hard to sell a $350 ad to a home furnishing store for a mounted shooting magazine!
I have also started created some ads for the October issue, so I actually really like doing that. My first one Ken had me do was for a mounted shooting saddle and it was just recreating an ad that was in another magazine. I have now done about three and I really enjoy it-- you can see them in the October issue, sold in all Tractor Supply Company stores nationwide :)
Some more good news to report this week: I have at least two photos with my name by them in the next issue and one of my photos I took at Battle in the Saddle is going to be used for a national ad campaign for Cactus Saddles featuring the always awesome Andra Olson.
Only eight days of work left and I have a lot to get done! Magazine layout, writing more featurettes and calling businesses for product photos will consume most of my time (Cynthia says I don't have to make sales calls anymore-- she knows how much I hate it!).
Only 14 days until I leave for home-- I'm a little bit excited :)
